Old Site of Command of Shanxi-Hebei-Shandong-Henan Field Army, is located in Shilin Village in Shilin Town. In the fifth year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty, the village gentry Zhang Zhongren began to build the village. The three courtyards are connected with each other. Each yard has the front and back doors, with nine doors in total, being called “nine doors facing each other” by the local people. This is a typical Qing Dynasty dwelling, with   80m long and 40m wide, covering an area of 3200 square meters. The courtyard is situated in the south and faces the north, its three parts are independent, and the central part of the courtyard is connected with the door. The four walls of the courtyard are high, which is conducive to defense. In June 1947, the chief officer Liu and Deng lived and worked here during the period of holding the “Stone Forest Conference”. Deng Xiaoping lived in a two-floor and five-room building in the middle courtyard at that time. The building is magnificent and has completed facilities, the doors and windows were equipped with stone-carved intermediate pier that carved with exquisite and gorgeous patterns; the four corners of rooms were equipped with stone carved eaves, which had a strange shape; the architectural pattern was symmetrical and reasonable, and had a high architectural taste and aesthetic value. In 2017, the original buildings were rebuilt and being exhibited.
